Want to get your hands dirty?
Grow Pittsburgh is currently taking applications for 2015 interns and apprentices to help them spread their mission of teaching people how to grow their own food.
Right now, they’re looking for apprentices for their Braddock Farms, Shiloh Farm and Frick Greenhouse sites. The apprentices will run weekly farm stands, tackle marketing endeavors, and be involved in all other aspects of the farm site, from starting seedlings to planning next year’s crop.
There are also open spots available for interns for the spring, to help with their urban gardening education program and community events.
Of course, if you can’t commit to a full-time apprenticeship, and are well past the internship phase of your life, Grow Pittsburgh is always looking for volunteers to help out around the farm, mulching, weeding and watering seedlings.
