Healthy(ish) New Startup Offers Individually-Sized Baking Boxes

Pittsburgh native Sarah Thomas-Drawbaugh has launched a healthy(ish) food business, with the hopes of getting people excited about baking at home.

Thomas-Drawbaugh’s company, Healthyish Foods, strives to make good food, and tasty treats that won’t derail a healthy lifestyle.

All of her desserts are individually-portioned, and can be made one at a time. It’s basically the equivalent of baking just one slice of cake, and eliminates tantalizing leftovers in the fridge for days to come. Picture your easy-bake oven, but tasty and organic.

This past June, Healthyish Foods launched their new Themed Baking Kits, which are perfect for cooking with friends, or giving as a hostess gift.

These kits were inspired by the stress that comes when someone with a sweet tooth craves a little dessert.  Bake up an entire cake, pie or batch of brownies and cookies can cause way too much temptation later on. That’s where Healthyish Cakes steps in.

Each baking kit contains pre-measured and portioned cake mix, frosting and toppings, with bakers at home only needing to add milk and butter. The Baking Kits come with a set amount of servings, from four individual cakes to twelve. Customers can make one cake at a time, or all twelve.

Cake flavors available on the site include: Mellow Yellow Cake, Very Vanilla Bean Cake, Bright White Cake, Brownie Cake, Royal Red Velvet Cake, Richie Rich Chocolate, and more.

Baking kits and subscription boxes start at $24.99.
