We’re in the midst of summer tomato season, and Lidia’s Italy Pittsburgh is taking full advantage of it.
On Tuesday, July 28 and Tuesday, August 4, they’re hosting a set of Heirloom Tomato Dinners, a five-course meal that will feature dishes made with locally-grown heirloom tomatoes.
The Heirloom Tomato Dinner menu:
Primi: Heritage Pork Shoulder ‘alla Porchetta’ with pickled green tomato and horseradish
Insalate: Seared rare yellowfin tuna loin with cherry tomatoes, almond milk and herbs
Pasta: Risotto with spot prawns, sundried tomato and basil pesto
Entrée: Battutina of Beef Tenderloin with heirloom tomato, mozzarella and garlic sauce
Dolce: Heirloom tomato and peach cobbler with caramelized milk ice cream and cornmeal crumble
Seats are $55 per person, with an additional $30 for wine pairings.
