New patio alert! 🚨
There’s a new spot to enjoy a refreshing beer in the summer sun. Hitchhiker Brewing’s taproom in Sharpsburg has officially opened a back patio.
Featuring authentic beer garden tables from Germany, the new patio offers an additional 70 seats for the brewery.
Inside of the brewery there have also been a few changes, including the arrival of three pinball machines.
This is a major expansion for Hitchhiker Sharpsburg, which opened in the neighborhood in September of 2017. The brewery took over the former Fort Pitt Brewing building, which operated in the space from 1908 through the 1950s.

The original Hitchhiker Brewing location opened in May 2014 in Mt. Lebanon.
Our upcoming brunch festival, BrunchBurgh, is a great reason to come check out Hitchhiker’s new patio! This festival is going to be an over-the-top brunch extravaganza, featuring everything from donuts and coffee, to breakfast burritos and beer mimosas. Over 15 local brunch, coffee, and tea vendors will be spread out between the brewery and the new patio. BrunchBurgh will be held on Saturday, July 28. Doors open at 9:30 A.M. Brunch fans, this is an event you don’t want to miss!
