For many people, there is no better way to kick off a weekend than with a refreshing Bloody Mary. Luckily, Pittsburgh has tons of restaurants adding their own flair to this classic drink. From grilled cheese toppings (yep), to endless topping bars, we’ve rounded up our a few of our favorite Bloody mary spots for the ultimate Bloody Mary pilgrimage.

How To Take The Ultimate Pittsburgh Bloody Mary Road Trip
Stop 1: Twelve Whiskey BBQ
South Side

The award for” most over-the-top Bloody Mary in Pittsburgh” might just have to go to Twelve Whiskey Bar in the South Side! This Bloody is practically and entire meal, and is topped with a burger (yep), grilled cheese, fries, and so much more. If you’re still hungry, be sure to finish the meal dishes like “Pumpkin Spice Latte French Toast,” or the “Waffle Sandwich.”

Stop 2: Carmi Soul Food
South Side
The newly re-opened Carmi Soul Food (now on the South Side!) has delicious Bloody Marys to pair with their brunch. Stop by on Saturdays from 11:00 a.m – 3:00 p.m. and enjoy breakfast and live music. Be sure to pair your Bloody with their crab legs, omelettes, or famous chicken and waffles!

Stop 3: The Yard
Shadyside
In addition to their delicious Bloody Mary Bar, The Yard (locations around the city) has something for everyone! If your friends aren’t into Bloodys, perhaps they’d enjoy The Yard’s “Basically Bottomless Mimosas” deal. (Limit 15 per person!) No need to save brunch for the weekend – The Yard’s Bloodys and mimosas are available every day the restaurant is open for lunch or brunch (Wednesday through Sunday).

Stop 4: Harris Grill
Shadyside
All three Harris Grill locations (Downtown, Shadyside, and Mt. Washington) have brunch every Sunday from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. For $16.00, you get a Bloody Mary (or frozen mimosa) and your choice of breakfast menu item. Popular items include the Belgian waffles, the omelette station (!), and Mac and Cheese.

Stop 5: or, The Whale
Downtown
or, The Whale calls brunch on their “most cherished weekend rituals,” and we agree! The restaurant has used their “years of brunching experience” to create their ideal brunch menu. Of course, Bloody Marys are part of the spread. Dubbed the “Iron Knees Bloody Mary,” oTW’s version of the classic brunch drink is as strong as it it is delicious. Pair it with menu favorites like Eggs Chesapeake, Savory Bubble Waffles, and Shakshuka.

Stop 6: Meat and Potatoes
Downtown

For many people in Pittsburgh, you say “Bloody Mary,” and their brain immediately jumps to Meat & Potatoes. This popular spot in the cultural district has one of the most famous Bloody Mary bars in Pittsburgh. Choose from bases like “Kimchi Vodka,” “Taco Tequila,” “Greek Pepperoncini Vodka,” or “Red Pepper & Horseradish Vodka,” which are all $7. Head to their topping bar and load up with as many toppings as you can fit in your glass – but make sure you save room for your meal! Meat & Potatoes has one of the best brunch menus in town!

Stop 7: Luke Wholey’s Wild Alaskan Grille
Strip District
Seafood fans, this is the bloody for you! At at the Wild Alaskan Grille your bloody mary is topped with a tempura crab (and shrimp and bacon!) Pair your decadent drink with some fresh fish, sushi, or shellfish.

Stop 8: Spirit
Lawrenceville

If you’re sleeping on Spirit’s brunch, it’s time to change that immediately. Every Saturday and Sunday, guests can enjoy an endless pizza and brunch bar at Spirit in Lawrenceville for only $15! The menu is endless, and includes options like salad, yogurt, buttermilk biscuits, gravy, bacon, quiche, french toast sticks, beignets, and more. Don’t miss the pizza and donuts (vegan options available). In addition to all this delicious grub, guests can enjoy a bloody bar. See ya there!
Stop 9: Social
East End

If you’re looking for a deal on Bloodys, head to Social in Bakery Square. Their Bloody Marys are half-off every Sunday! This deal runs until 3:00 p.m. so there’s plenty of time to indulge with a glass or two (or three) and get your week started rights!

Bier’s Pub in the Northside has an awesome Bloody Mary bar with excellent flavors of infused vodka.
Blue Dust has the best bloody mary in Pittsburgh. Hands down. They are also half off on Sunday– ALL day.
