It’s one of the unofficial kick-offs to summer… and it’s back this weekend!
On Sunday, May 27, Kaya is hosting their annual free block party, Kayafest.
They’re closing off a section of Smallman Street for the festivities, which will include live music, Carnival drumlines, dancing, festive drinks and plenty of Caribbean-inspired street eats, too.
The festival is free to attend, and food and drinks are pay-as-you-go. On the menu, you’ll find a selection of tacos (pork, chicken and vegetables), pineapple-mango salsa with chips, Kaya Dogs, Chicken Skewers, Pork Belly Skewers and grilled corn on the cob. They’ll also be serving rum punch, Sangria, and lots of draft brews.
Musical acts, including DJ Logic, Starship Mantis, The Clock Reads, Timbeleza and Truth and Rites will be performing all day long.
The festival runs from noon to 10:00 p.m., and more information can be found online.
