Keep Pittsburgh Fishy is back this year to serve Pittsburgh their Friday fish fry while supporting a good cause – and local restaurants 52nd Street Market, the Vandal, and Apteka are joining the fun.
This secular fish fry works to raise awareness and funds for local, progressive organizations. The 2017 edition of Keep Pittsburgh Fishy will benefit New Voices Pittsburgh, an organization dedicated to the health and well-being of Black women and girls through leadership development, human rights and reproductive justice. Previous years have supported organizations like the Persad Center and Dreams of Hope.
The event will be held on Friday, April 14 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Spirit in Lawrenceville. Tickets are $10 and include:
- A spiced cornmeal-crusted fish sandwich with Sriracha mayo “tartar” sauce, or a vegan sundried tomato hummus/pickled carrots/arugula sandwich prepared by 52nd Street Market
- Vegan coleslaw prepared by Apteka
- Vegetarian macaroni & cheese prepared by The Vandal
Additionally, there will be desserts, raffles, drinks and live entertainment. The event is all-ages and tickets can be purchased at the door. More information can be found online.
