The kitchen at Legume is going to the kids… at least for one day.
On Sunday, November 9 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Legume chef Trevett Hooper will welcome area students into the bistro’s kitchen for a hands-on cooking class, followed by lunch.
Hooper, along with pastry chef Amanda Barbano and butcher Tyler Mossman, will teach kids ages 8 to 12 cooking techniques, while the students prepare some of Legume’s kid-friendly dishes. After the lesson, everyone will sit down together and eat what they’ve prepared.
Kids’ Day is part of a Kids and Chefs Cook for Success campaign, which works to educate children about the importance of conscious food selections.
Tickets are $10 a child, and all of the proceeds from ticket sales will go to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. And, parents are welcome to stay, and join in on the fun.
