The opening date for Larder of East End has officially been announced.
The culinary collaboration, between East End Brewing Company’s Scott Smith, Justin Severino and Hilary Prescott Severino, will open officially on Friday, July 5.
Located in East End Brewing’s Julius Street location, Larder will be a casual carryout counter adjacent to the bar, with 85 seats, plus additional outdoor seating space.
The small menu will feature a seasonally-changing list, with brew-pub classics like steamed mussels and fries and a chicken chorizo hot dog with carmelized onions and pickled peppers mixing it up with vegetarian-friendly dishes, including falafel with cucumber yogurt and pickled radish, and gem lettuce with creamy lemon dressing and pumpernickel bread.
The kitchen will also feature a massive smoker, which will be used to make brisket sandwiches, and whole hog barbecue platters, served with braised greens, baked beans, and cornbread.
Desserts will also be fairy represented, with seasonal selections like strawberry cobbler, and a selection of ice cream from Pittsburgh’s Millie’s Homemade.
In a release, Justin Severino says that the collbooration has been a long time coming. “I think it’s arriving at the perfect time,” he says. “I’ve been more and more drawn to cooking casual, familiar, but delicious food, and that’s exactly the kind of fare a great brewery restaurant calls for.”
And, of course, there will be a selection of East End Brewing Company beers to enjoy, with 13 draft lines, and up to 10 offerings in cans. Guests can also enjoy locally-roasted nitro cold brew from Commonplace Coffee, and house-made soft drinks by Barmy Soda Company.
After the restaurant opens on July 5, opening hours will be from Wednesday through Sunday, starting at 4:00 p.m.
