Launch Party for Pawpaw: The Forgotten Fruit

August 7, 2015 by Emily Catalano Leave a Comment

Local writer Andrew Moore is celebrating the launch of his first book, and taking a look at a fruit that’s native to the United States – but that no one ever eats.

On Saturday, August 9 at the East End Book Exchange, Morton will take part in a reading and signing for ‘Pawpaw: In Search of America’s Forgotten Fruit.’

So what is pawpaw? It’s the largest edible fruit native to the United States, and it tastes like a mix between banana and mango. It grows easily, and requires no pesticides to thrive. In his book, Moore uncovers why so few people have tasted it (let alone heard of it), and explores the past, present and future of this unique fruit.

The party kicks off at 7:00 p.m.
