Bridget’s Apothecary, a Pittsburgh-based producer of natural and herbal products from scratch, is hosting a class on “Herbal Syrups, Shrubs, and Sodas.”
In addition to their natural balms, butters, oils and more, Bridget’s Apothecary frequently hosts “Make-and-Learn sessions,” where guests learn to make natural, herbal bodycare and health products.
This particular session, which will be held on Saturday, July 15 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Garden Dreams Urban Farm and Nursery, is all about natural syrups and tonics. Guests will learn the art of making medicated syrups, shrubs, and sodas from herbs and other natural ingredients. Historically, these drinks were served at pharmacies, and were viewed as a medicinal drink.
Guests of the class will learn all about this history, sample these drinks, as well as make some beverages from fresh herbs. They will also go home with recipes so they can make the drinks at home.
Tickets are $15 per person and can be purchased online.
