Farm to Table Pittsburgh is teaming up with the Pittsburgh Public Market to help give kids a hand in the kitchen.
They’re launching a Little Locavore series, with fun, free events for kids all month long.
It kicks off on Saturday, August 8 at 11:00 a.m. at the Public Market, with a demonstration by Tom Samilson from the Community Kitchen Pittsburgh, who will be showing kids how to make a fresh watermelon and tomato salad.
Other ‘Little Locavore’ events planned include:
Friday, August 14 at 11:00 a.m. – Chelsea Holmes, Women for a Healthy Environment “Everyday Food, Sometimes Food”
Thursday, August 27 at 11:00 a.m. – Susan Lee, “The Super Fun Food Challenge”
