Summer may be on its way out, but we still have a few more weeks of really beautiful weather ahead of us – and there’s still some gorgeous Pittsburgh parks to explore and enjoy while we still can.
That’s why we’re so happy that our friends at LOCALpittsburgh have put together their list of the city’s best picnic spots, from Point State Park to Schenley Park. They’ve even planned the perfect menus for us, with selections from nearby shops and restaurants to make your next picnic as tasty as possible.
Our pick? We can’t wait to head out to Frick Park with a basket full of treats from D’s Six Pax & Dogz, like their Chicago Dog, topped with relish, onions, pickles, tomatoes, yellow mustard and celery salt – and some Rivertowne brews to wash it all down.
You can check out the complete list in the summer 2015 issue of LOCALpittsburgh online, or pick up a free copy at more than 200 retail locations around the city.
Be sure to follow LOCAL for daily pics, news and events on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, too!
