The James Beard Award semifinalists were announced this morning, and three amazing Pittsburgh chefs have been recognized.

Outstanding Pastry Chef
Neil Blazin, Driftwood Oven, Pittsburgh
Other Pennsylvania semifinalists include Philadelphia’s Marc Vetri for Outstanding Chef, Bolete, Bethlehem’s Bolete for Outstanding Restaurant, Le Caveau in Philadelphia for Outstanding Wine Program, and Kalaya in Philadelphia for Best New Restaurant.
The James Beard Foundation is a New York-based foundation known globally for citing and rewarding the best chefs, restaurants and food publications around the country.
A list of final nominees in all categories will be announced on Wednesday, March 25, and will be streamed live online. The winners will then be announced at the James Beard Foundation Awards Gala, taking place in Chicago on May 4.
