Mixtape Serving Up A New Summer Cocktail Menu

Pittsburgh’s most laid-back cocktail bar has mixed up their cocktail list for summer!

Mixtape, located on Penn Avenue in Garfield, has slowly been gaining a reputation as a great place to hang with friends, play some board games, and have some of the best cocktails in the city.

The bar simultaneously balances a “living-room” feel with beanbag chairs, a projection screen TV, retro music, and every board game (practically) known to man, while serving an elevated drink menu that includes ingredients like house passion fruit syrup, orange blossom water, and basil-melon ice cubes.

Mixtape’s drink menu features 10 signature cocktails, with names inspired by music and pop culture, and three “cold brew cocktails,” which pair cold brew coffee with ingredients like chocolate bitters and flambéed banana.

They also have a list of nine “classic cocktails,” but even these have an innovative twist, like the “Gin Fizz,” which uses aquafaba (the vegan liquid from canned beans, like chickpeas) instead of egg whites to create the foamy top layer of the drink.
