Bon Appétit has named their ten finalists for the magazine’s “Best New Restaurants” list, and Justin Severino’s Morcilla made the cut.
Andrew Knowlton effuses praise on the restaurant, and writes that Morcilla “serves the best Spanish food I’ve had outside San Sebastian,” and calls Severino a “charcuterie god.”
And Knowlton’s love affair with the insanely-popular Lawreceville spot doesn’t end there, with notes on everything from Morcilla’s house-made tonic to Severino’s classic egg tortilla.
The magazine’s top ten list was whittled down from their pick for the 50 best restaurants in the country, which also included the Whitfield at the Ace Hotel.
The full list includes:
- Staplehouse (Atlanta, G.A.)
- Bad Saint (Washington, D.C.)
- Lord Stanley (San Francisco, C.A.)
- Morcilla (Pittsburgh, P.A.)
- Baroo (Los Angeles, C.A.)
- South Philly Barbacoa (Philadelphia, P.A.)
- Oberlin (Providence, R.I.)
- Wildair (New York, N.Y.)
- Buxton Hall (Asheville, N.C.)
- N7 (New Orleans, L.A.)
