Chef Andrea Murdoch, founder of Four Directions Cuisine and who was featured in the James Beard award-winning book, “Sioux Chef’s Indigenous Kitchen,” will be the featured chef at a five-course dinner at Community Kitchen on Thursday, October 10.
The dinner will be part of The Wild Rose Collective’s Wellness Disruptor conference, and will feature “thoughtful, unique and life-inspired dishes” that blend together ingredients from Latin America with the ingredients of North American tribes.
In a release, Quelcy Kogel, co-founder of The Wild Rose Collective, says that the dinner will highlight an interpretation of Indigenous cuisine, where Murdoch will prioritize sourcing ingredients from local vendors and Indigenous businesses to raise awareness of Indigenous foods and culture.
“We were blown away by the way Andrea uses food to create a dialogue around indigenous culture, Native American purveyors, PTSD and holistic health. She’s the real deal,” Kogel writes.
Tickets to the dinner are $75 per person, and can be purchased online.
