Where to Eat (and Drink) on New Year’s Eve in Pittsburgh

With less than three weeks until 2017 (let that sink in for a minute), if you haven’t figured out where you want to spend your New Year’s Eve, now’s the time to make those reservations. From all-night parties to sophisticated tasting menus, here are our top picks for New Year’s Eve in the ‘Burgh.

Cure

Cure is hosting a New Year’s Eve dinner with a six-course prix fixe Chef’s Tasting menu for $125 per person. Expect plenty of chef Justin Severino’s charcuterie snacks, and a decadent meal with truffles, homemade pasta, and a chocolate soufflé cake to help you ring in 2017. Morcilla

Morcilla, Severino’s other Lawrenceville spot, is also celebrating New Year’s Eve with a four-course prix-fixe menu, available for $95 per person. You’ll get oysters, house-cured meats, and a selection of small plates from the award-winning Spanish restaurant. Call 412-652-9924 for reservations. Morcilla (3519 Butler Street)

Smallman Galley

The Strip District’s Smallman Galley is hosting a five-course wine dinner on New Year’s Eve, featuring dishes from all four of the restaurant incubator’s chefs, like Lobster Bisque from Provision PGH’s Stephen Eldridge and Corned Beef from Toast’s Jacqueline Wardle. Seats to the dinner at $155 per person, and can be purchased online. After dinner, Smallman Galley’s second annual Brew Year’s Eve event starts at 10:00 p.m., and gives unlimited access to all 22 craft beers on their draft menu. Brew Year’s Eve is $50 for people attending dinner, and $75 for everyone else. Tickets are available online. Smallman Galley (54 21st Street)

Whitfield

The Whitfield at the Ace Hotel is hosting a four-course New Year’s Eve dinner, with two prix-fixe menus available – one for meat-eaters, and one for vegetarians. Seats are $75 per person for the regular menu, and $45 per person for the vegetarian menu, with an optional $25 per person drink pairing. Reservations are available online. Whitfield (120 S. Station

Station is taking reservations for dinner on New Year’s Eve, and will be featuring a special menu, centered around a suckling pig. Reservations can be made online. Station (4744 Liberty Ave.)

Sienna Mercato

Ring in the New Year with a rooftop party at Sienna Mercato. Their beer garden will be open from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., and tickets are $120, which include five drink tickets, a hors d’oeuvres buffet, and a midnight Champagne toast. Social House Seven

One of Pittsburgh’s newest restaurants, Social House Seven, is celebrating with a prix-fixe dinner, and a late-night party. Dinner reservations at the Japanese izakaya-style restaurant are available from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., and seats are $65 per person. Their NYE dance party begins at 9:30, and the cover charge is $50. Kaya

Kaya’s New Year’s Eve menu includes four courses, with optional vegetarian choices. Seats are $55 per person ($45 for the vegetarian menu), with an additional $25 wine pairing option available. See the full menu online. (Kaya, 2000 Smallman Street)

Ember & Vine

Ember & Vine in Cranberry is taking advantage of its location inside a Hilton hotel, and offering a special overnight package to New Year’s Eve guests for $259 per couple, including a three-course dinner, Champagne, an overnight room, and breakfast the next morning. Dinner only is also available for $70 per person. (Ember & Vine, 910 Sheraton Dr., Mars)

Umami

Celebrate New Year’s Eve at Umami starting at 10:00 p.m. They’ll have music, a dance party and hors d’oeuvres. Tickets are $40 per person, and include two drinks and a Champagne toast. See more on their event page. (Umami, 202 38th Street)

The Summit

Mt. Washington’s The Summit is hosting a New Year’s Eve bash, with an open bar, hors d’oeuvres, a buffet, and a midnight Champagne toast. Tickets are $100 per person, and only 60 tickets will be sold. For more information, visit their event page. (The Summit, 200 Shiloh Street)

Eleven

Eleven is offering a chef’s tasting menu on New Year’s Eve, featuring five courses (with options like Tagliatelle with duck confit, and Beef Short Rib with Anson Mills oat risotto) for $75 per person, with an optional $50 wine pairing.
