The 2600 block of Smallman Street is now home to Kingfly Spirits.
The new distillery, which has been under construction for the past two years, officially opened this past weekend. The space boasts over 10,000 square feet of distillery, bar, and event space, and is located inside of a former barn in the heart of The Strip.
Via their stunning copper still, Kingfly produces a large variety of handcrafted alcohols, including rum, grappa, vodka, and limoncello. Kingfly is dedicated to making their spirits from scratch, using “only the highest quality ingredients” from all around the world. This means lemons from Sorrento, cinnamon from Vietnam, sugarcane from Colombia, agave from Mexico, rose petals from France, and grapes from the Napa Valley.
And this sourcing clearly pays off – Kingfly’s “Bliss 1895 Spiced Rum” won Double Gold at the New York International Spirits Competition last year.
Kingfly is now open Wednesday through Sunday. Guests at the bar & distillery can enjoy .5, 1, and 1.5 oz pours of Kingfly’s spirits, as well as craft cocktails, such as Bloody Marys, and the “Pick-Me-Up” with vodka, orange juice, and bitter orange soda.
The space is also an excellent location for events, both private and public. Kingfly has already started a weekly jazz series. Dubbed “Live! at Kingfly,” the series takes place every Thursday from 7-10pm at the distillery and features different local jazz musicians.
