More local updates in the coronavirus pandemic.
PA Gov has updated their website with information regarding Unemployment or Workers’ Compensation benefits for those affected by Covid-19, coronavirus.
Last night, Governor Tom Wolf has ordered all restaurants and bars to close their dine-in facilities at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, March 16 in five Pennsylvania counties, including Allegheny for the next 14 days.
According to the PA government, you may be eligible for unemployment if:
- Your employer temporarily closes or goes out of business because of COVID-19
- Your employer reduces your hours because of COVID-19
- You have been told not to work because your employer feels you might get or spread COVID-19
- You have been told to quarantine or self-isolate, or live/work in a county under government-recommended mitigation efforts
Applicants are encouraged to file online.
If your COVID-19 claim is denied, you may file a petition with the WC Office of Adjudication
