The Penn Brewery Oktoberfest is always one of Pittsburgh’s very best fall celebrations, and this year’s event promises to be no different.

The annual German-inspired festival will be back for two weekends of beer-filled fun on Friday, September 21 – Sunday, September 23, and the following weekend, Friday, September 28 – Sunday, September 30.

Taking place under a massive festival tent, the Troy Hill brewery’s Oktoberfest will feature German food (think bratwurst and Bavarian pretzels with beer cheese, along with a Pickled Red Cabbage Salad, pierogies, and Schweinshaxe Crispy Pork Shanks), and live Bavarian music and entertainment. This year’s lineup includes Autobahn, Kevin Solecki, and the Mon Valley Push.

While the event is always free to attend, Penn Brewery does offer select VIP packages available for Friday and Saturday nights. The packages range in price from $45 to $65 per person, and include food, a beer stein, private access to a special VIP area, and more. Tickets are available online, and typically sell out quickly.

Families with children are welcome at the Oktoberfest during the day, but guests must be 21+ after 8:00 p.m. each evening.

The brewery will also have their famous Oktoberfest bier available in bottles, cans and on draft, along with a O’zapft is Spirit, a special spirit from Wigle Whiskey that was made by directly distilling Penn’s Oktoberfest brew. Other beers available include Penn Pilsner, Penn Pumpkin Roll Ale, Penn Tangerine Swirl, and a few specialty brews from the brewery’s small-batch system.

The Penn Brewery Oktoberfest celebration runs Fridays and Saturdays from 5:00 p.m. to midnight, and Sundays from noon to 10:00 p.m.
