Picklesburgh Is Coming Back!

July 7, 2021 by Emily Catalano Leave a Comment

Picklesburgh 2021 is happening!
The dates are set for Picklesburgh 2021!

It’s the best news we’ve heard in awhile… Picklesburgh 2021 is happening!

The beloved festival will take over the Andy Warhol (7th Street) Bridge from Friday, August 20 through Sunday, August 22, 2021.

The Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership just received final approval from Allegheny County Council for use of the bridge, and the PDP is now actively working with the city to finalize the footprint of the festival. In a release, the PDP says that it’s expected that the festival will expand from the bridge onto Ft. Duquesne Blvd. to better accommodate anticipated crowds.

The hugely popular festival launched in 2015, and features everything (and we mean everything) pickle-related. We’re talking pickle ice cream. Pickle on a stick. Pickle cupcakes. Pickle cookies. Pickle Juice Soda. Pickle cocktails. Pickle dogs. Pickle Funnel Cake. And much, much more.

And yes, the 35′ Heinz pickle balloon will fly high across the Andy Warhol Bridge.

Picklesburgh has twice been voted the #1 Specialty Food Festival in the United States, and Picklesburgh 2021 will also feature live music, demonstrations and other special events, including Pickle Cocktails, Pickle Beer, DIY Pickling Demos, Pickle Juice Drinking Contest, Li’l Gherkins KidsPlay area, and an abundance of pickle-themed apparel and more.

“As a signature event for Pennsylvania and the City of Pittsburgh, Picklesburgh attracts thousands of visitors from near and far and is an exceptional way to highlight all of what Downtown has to offer as a destination” Jeremy Waldrup, president and CEO of the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership said in a release. “After a very challenging 2020, that even saw the Heinz pickle balloon burst over the holidays, we could not be more happy to dill-iver this great news, reinflate the beloved balloon, and welcome everyone back to ‘brine and dine’ with us again this August!”

Vendors who are interested in applying for Picklesburgh 2021 can do so here.

We’ll keep you updated with a full list of vendors and food when it’s announced.
