If there is anything better than enjoying a cold drink at one of Pittsburgh’s breweries or bars, it’s enjoying that drink with your favorite furry friend by your side.
Pittsburgh is lucky enough to have a plethora of bars that welcome pets, either inside or on the patio, so you don’t have to leave your pooch behind when you go for a drink with friends.
While all dogs are welcome, most bars and restaurants ask pet owners to make sure their dogs like to socialize, or are well-behaved in crowded spaces, before bringing them in. And, late nights and loud music don’t make for happy pups, so keep your dog’s health and well-being in mind before grabbing those leashes, and taking them out to these pet-friendly spots.
Allegheny City Brewing

Pittsburgh has a long way to go, but it’s getting there. Lots of bars in metro cities that don’t serve food are deemed “dog friendly” and I’d like to see more here. The local craft beer/bourbon scene is doing it right and in line with the times. Kudos to allegheny city brewing, east end brewing, brew gentlemen, gristhouse, and liberty pole distillers in Washington PA for opening their doors to our pups!

Yes! They have a large out door area now where the entertainment is usually. I was there this past weekend and throughout the night I probably saw about 7 people with dogs of all sizes. The area is large, so if you didn’t want your pup to be near another pup, there’s lots of room to find a seat!
Susan Metzler says
Sadly, I just saw on their FB page yesterday that they will no longer allow dogs. I was there 2 weeks ago and there were dogs there, so it’s very recent. I was so sad to hear about it. My friends and I would take our dogs there after hiking once or twice a week. But Grille 31 in Bridgeville is a good option. Nice, big deck where dogs are welcome.
