The Pittsburgh Botanic Garden is honoring a culinary megastar at this year’s ‘From Garden to Table’ event on Saturday, September 12.
Alice Waters, the world-renowned chef, author and owner of Chez Panisse, will be the guest of honor at the Botanic Garden’s annual fundraiser.
Local chefs, including Big Burrito Restaurant Group’s Bill Fuller, Trevett Hooper of Legume and Butterjoint, Sonja Finn of Dinette, Kate Romane of e2, Justin Severino of Cure, and Derek Stevens from Eleven will be preparing a multi-course, family-style dinner.
The menu will feature small bites, such as charcuterie, and a cold soup and salad first course. Slow-barbecued local lamb will be the main course, with seasonal side dishes, made with produce from local growers.
The dinner will take place on the grounds of the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden, around the newly-opened Ada and George Davidson Event and Culinary Center, showcasing a restored 1870s barn.
Ticket prices start at $350 for individual seats.
