Pittsburgh Businesses Offering Make-Your-Own Food and Drink Kits

Want to take on a kitchen project – and support a local business at the same time? Lots of Pittsburgh bakeries, restaurants and cafes are offering make-your-own food kits right now.

Cocoa Bake Shop

Not only is Cocoa Bake Shop offering $30 Brownie Boxes with Salted Caramel Brownies, Cheesecake Brownies, and Fudge Brownies, but they’re also offering fund Kid’s Cookie ICing Kits for $45 each. Mediterra Cafe

Mediterra Cafe is offering loads of kits to enjoy while you’re staying at home. Their Charcuterie Kit boxes are $30 each, and include a selection of crisps, cheese and jam. Pizza Kits include two balls of their signature pizza dough (with their very own heritage red fife grain), plus homemade pizza sauce and a two-cheese blend for $20 each. Allegheny Wine Mixer

Allegheny Wine Mixer is making ‘care packages’ for their loyal customers. For $50, you’ll get a ‘dealer’s choice’ of your favorite AWM goodies, like cheese, meat, tapenade, toasties, brownies, nuts, or pickles, plus a bottle of wine (your choice of red, white or bubbles). They’re reassessing the care package process weekly, so check their website for updates.

Wigle Whiskey

Wigle Whiskey is providing everything you need to make your favorite cocktails! Right now, they’re offering special prices on bottle bundles, including their Manhattan Kit (with two bottles of PA Organic Straight Rye Whiskey, one bottle of cocktail mixer No. 1 ‘Vermouth,’ one bottle of amarena cherries, and one bottle of Organic Aromatic Bitters), Negroni Kit (with one bottle of Organic Dutch-Style Gin, one bottle of cocktail mixer, and one bottle of Saffron Amaro), and Sazarec Kit, (with one bottle of PA Organic Straight Rye Whiskey, one bottle of Absent Minded Organic Absinthe, and one bottle of Organic Pomander Orange Bitters). DiAnoia’s Eatery

DiAnoia’s Eatery in Strip District is offering single pasta boxes for $60, which include a box filled with one pound of fresh pasta, two sauces, a loaf of bread, a bottle of Italian wine, and cookies – all made fresh at DiAnoia’s (except for the wine). Each box is enough food for two people. Pick-up is available at the restaurant, or they’ll bring it curbside. DiAnoia’s is also offering pasta subscriptions, too. Le Cupcake Shoppe

Decorate your own mini cupcakes from Le Cupcake Shoppe with their cupcake-decorating kits for curbside pickup. Call the shop at 412-254-4295, or check out their social media pages for updates, as supplies are very limited.

Burgh’ers

Make your own burgers at home with Burgher’s new meal kits! They’re offering raw beef patties, veggie patties, or chicken, plus potato buns, any of their cheeses, one of their sauces, pickles, tomato, onion, jalapenos, onions, and mushrooms, plus a side salad for $10. Hidden Harbor

Squirrel Hill’s Hidden Harbor is selling ‘just add rum’ mocktails to go (and for delivery!). The non-alcoholic options available now include Passa Passas (with lime, pineapple, hibiscus, ginger, cinnamon and allspice), Painkillers (with lime, orange, pineapple, toasted coconut cream, and nutmeg), and Riptides (with lime, grapefruit, orange, passion fruit, cinnamon and ginger) for $7 each. Fiori’s Pizzeria

Sugar & Spice Ice Cream Parlour

Sugar & Spice is offering Sugar Cookie Kits, with a mix (just add water), ready-to-use icing, a variety of sprinkles, and cookie cutters for $20 each. They’re also offering Chocolate Kits, with chocolate, molds, and sticks for making chocolate suckers for $15. Kit orders will be taken over the phone at 412-882-7326 for pick-up.
