Tom Friday’s Market: Tom Friday’s Market has been a Brighton Heights institution since 1955, specializing in daily cut and trimmed fresh meat, and are one of the last stores to carry fresh hanging sides of beef. They’re currently taking orders for home delivery with a minimum $25 purchase. Wholey’s: Not only can you get fresh and frozen fish and seafood delivered to your door, but Wholey’s also offer choice cuts of chicken, beef, bacon, pork, sausage, lamb and rabbit. Delivery is a $10 flat rate in Pennsylvania and Eastern states, and up to $40 for across the country. Shipping is free on orders $200 or more. Order online. (1711 Penn Avenue)
Birch Creek Farmery: This Burgettstown farm raises pastured, premium meats from heritage breeds like Icelandic lamb, Galloway beef, and Berkshire pork, and poultry, like turkey, duck and chicken. Order online, and pick-up on the farm is available year round, at monthly drop-off points, and select delivery and shipping is also available.
Weiss Provision Company: Weiss Provision Company provides customers with a wide range of meats, poultry, pork and game meats, all hand-cut to order. Their full selection is available online. To place an order for home delivery, call 412-434-6600. (2840 Smallman Street)
Strip District Meats: You can shop online for everything from alligator to wild boar from Strip District Meats – along with more traditional options, like chicken, beef, hot dogs, bacon, and duck. Freedom Farms: Butler’s Freedom Farms has a ‘Stock Your Freezer’ program for bulk meat purchases. All of their meat is raised without the use of steroids, hormones or antibiotics, and are raised on their farm. They have free-range pastured pork, grass-fed beef and pastured beef, and free range chicken. Order online.
Old Time Farm: Mercer County’s Old Time Farm offers grass-fed beef, pasture-raised chicken, turkey, pork and fresh eggs available for home delivery. Cuts include round steak, ribeye steak, chuck roast, and T-bone steak, plus chicken thighs, whole chickens, turkey legs and more. Order online.
Richard DeShantz Restaurant Group: In an effort to help Pittsburghers find restaurant-quality meats and produce, the Richard DeShantz Restaurant Group reached out to a Chef’s Warehouse, a long-time supplier, and was able to create packages to sell to customers. Offerings change regularly, but can include beef strip steaks, ground beef patties, Gerber Amish chicken breasts, boneless lamb leg, lamb racks, and variety packages of meat. Order is available online, but only pickup is available right now.
Fogo de Chão: Fogo de Chão has pivoted to not only offering their menu for takeout and delivery, but is also selling ready-to-grill meat from their in-house butcher shop.
