With the season coming to a close, KFC has decided to throw their hat in the ring for the Summer 2019 Fried Chicken Battle!
Following the hype of Popeye’s new fried chicken sandwich (and subsequent rebuttals from Chick-Fil-A and McDonalds) KFC has announced that they are releasing their own sandwich, featuring a filet of chicken sandwiched between two glazed donuts.
According to CNN, the new fried chicken and glazed doughnuts sandwich will be available starting September 16 in the following test cities: Norfolk and Richmond, Virginia, and Pittsburgh.
Guests can choose between a chicken and doughnut basket for $5.49, or a chicken/donut sandwich for $5.99. If you just want a doughnut, you can add one to any meal for a dollar.
