Pittsburgh musician Byron Nash is teaming up with Mt. Pleasant’s Helltown Brewing for a special beer release – the third installment of their popular BLQ METAL IPA beer collaboration.
Nash, a longtime musician, artist and bartender in Pittsburgh, originally began to collaborate with Helltown Brewing in 2018, as part of the nation’s first Black beer festival, Fresh Fest. Brought together by Day Bracey, co-founder of Fresh Fest, the collbaboration was a certified success, with drafts of BLQ METAL selling out in 2018 and 2019.
This year, the collaboration will include newly-designed can options, with heavy-metal themed artwork inspired by Nash’s music.
BLQ METAL IPA is a dry, hop-forward, West Coast Style IPA with a bright, tropical and citrus aroma using Galaxy and Amarillo hops. The beer was officially released on September 21 at the brewery, and will be available at Market District locations, and all bars, restaurants, and beer stores where Helltown Brewing beer is carried, including in select locations in Philadelphia.
To celebrate the release of BLQ METAL in cans, Nash is performing live at the outdoor Helltown Taproom in Mount Pleasant on Saturday, September 26, at 6:30 p.m.
