Welcome to the Green Phase.
Starting today, restaurants and retail food service businesses in Allegheny County (along with Westmoreland, Armstrong, Butler, Fayette, Greene, Somerset, Washington, and eight other western Pennsylvania counties) are able to open for dine-in service, with restrictions.
Guidelines from Governor Wolf and the PLCB allow indoor seating in green counties, limited to less than 50% of the stated fire capacity, or 12 people per 1,000 square feet. Outdoor seating is also permitted, with the same restrictions.
Alcohol sales are permitted for on-site consumption, as long as food is also provided on-premises. Other restrictions include no standing at a bar, though sitting at a bar is permitted, with social-distancing guidelines (of six feet or more per person, or a barrier) in place.
The full list of dining restrictions can be found online.
It’s important to remember that in-person dining is not required for any restaurant – and there are a lot of great places that are taking things slow, and figuring out the best path forward for them. Find our list of restaurants open for takeout here.
If you know of any other restaurants that are now open for in-person dining, leave a comment or email [email protected]
