East Liberty is about to get a little more sporty.
Title 9, Pittsburgh’s first ever women’s sports watch bar, is opening on Centre Avenue in February.
The concept was developed by Sherree Goldstein, owner of Square Cafe, and a group of her friends. The bar, which will be located directly next to Square Cafe, will serve food, drinks, and exclusively air women’s sports.
“We have been planning this for over a year,” Goldstein says. “The right opportunity presented itself with the adjacent space to Square Care, and we went for it.”
As a passionate sports fan, Goldstein says that it has been inspiring to see women’s sports get increasing viewership.
“We want to do what we can to grow here in our hometown, and also support and connect with our collegiate and professional players in Pittsburgh,” she says. “The goal is to make this not only a place to watch women’s sports, but to convene and grow the community.”

The menu at Title 9 will consist of snacks and handheld sandwiches, with vegan and vegetarian options. The bar will feature cocktails, mocktails, and beers from local brewers.
“Some Square Cafe crossovers will be present in the food and beverage program for sure,” says Goldstein. “There are some really popular snacks, like our tots, and handhelds like our wraps and veggie burgers that are sure to make an appearance. We’re also going to be doing some fun twists on bar food, as well.”
The space will have a full bar, eight televisions, garage windows that open to the street, and a rooftop bar area.
Title 9 will be hosting a series of pop-ups in advance of its official grand opening, which is expected to happen in mid-February. You can follow Title 9 on Instagram at @title9pgh for pop-up information.
