Dave Anoia and Aimee DiAndrea Anoia have had a busy year.
The duo, who also own and operate DiAnoia’s Eatery, are set to open their third Pizzeria Davide location, this time in Carnegie. It’s only the latest restaurant opening in a year that has seen them open a second pizzeria in Robinson Township, and Pane è Pronto, an Italian takeout, bread and catering kitchen in the Strip District.
“These were all planned before the pandemic hit,” Aimee says. “It’s been challenging, but in spite of everything, we just keep moving forward.”
Pizzeria Davide is opening on Thursday, February 18 on Second Avenue in downtown Carnegie, offering takeout and delivery of their Old World-style pizzas, Italian appetizers and desserts.
Plans had been in place to open in Carnegie since the pair first bought the building that houses the pizzeria (which was a former Fox’s Pizza Den location) in June 2019. The pandemic, and ongoing construction delayed the opening slightly, but the two say they’re now all set to expand their business south of the city.
“We landed on Carnegie because of the easy access to the city,” says Dave. “We really love the town, and it just seems like a great up-and-coming area. We fell in love with the neighborhood, and so when the property came up, we knew we had to get it.”
In addition to pizza, the restaurant will also serve sandwiches (made on house-baked hoagie rolls), meatballs, cannoli, cheesecake and more.
Pizzeria Davide in Carnegie will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
