We’ve been eagerly anticipating the opening of Rick DeShantz and Keith Fuller’s downtown pork-centric smokehouse, Pork & Beans, for a while now, and while the restaurant isn’t quite open yet, they’re giving us all a sneak peek of what we can expect.

On Saturday, May 7, DeShantz and Fuller will be opening the restaurant doors, and teaming up with Full Pint Brewery for a special five course beer dinner.

Tickets will be sold in two levels: Standard tickets will get you into the dinner starting at 7:00 p.m., and VIP tickets will be sold in groups of four, and will give diners access an hour early for a reception and a private tour of the new space by both chefs.

On the menu:

First Course: Hoppin’ John – Red Island Sea Peas/ Trinity / Ham Hock / English peas / Carolina rice/ Pickled Swiss Chard / Pork Rice. Paired with Social Grapefruit Session IPA

Second Course: Smoked Korean Short Ribs – Strawberry Kim Chi / Savory Rice Krispie / Banana Puree / BBQ Pop Rocks. Paired with White Lightening, Belgian-style Wheat Ale

Third Course: Sweetbread Sausage – Caramel Demi / Sage / Potato / Hazelnuts / Pickled Raisins / Brown Butter. Paired with Kilt ‘Em All

Fourth Course: Smoked Brisket – Potato Rolls / Creamed Corn / Carolina BBQ / Pickles / Mustard / Collard Greens. Paired with Rye Rebellion Imperial Stout

Fifth Course: Donuts – Cherry Custard / Salted Chocolate Ganache / Champagne Glaze. Paired with Lavery Collaboration brew

Tickets are $95 for general admission, and $125 for VIP.
