A popular brewery has just opened a brand new location in Cranberry Township.
Recon Brewing officially opened its doors this week at the Crossroads at Meeder, the business district in the Charter Homes & Neighborhoods planned community. The Butler-based brewery first opened in Center Township in 2016 by Dave Bestwick, Nate Bacher and Toby Wehr, three friends who met through the fire service in Butler Township.

“Everything that we do is Butler-based to the very best we can. Everything that we can get in Butler, we get in Butler,” says Bestwick. “It was a no-brainer for us to work with Charter. They are committed to the local community and keep it at the heart and center of everything that they do.”
The new Cranberry Township location will feature a dozen Recon brews that their fans have come to know and love, along with two guest taps that will be devoted to cider (they’re currently pouring Pittsburgh’s KingView Mead).
The drinks menu also features specialty cocktails and wine, and the bar also offers growler fills for all of the beers on tap.
Recon’s food menu features bar-food favorites, including snackable cheese curds, soft pretzels, and nachos, along with grinders and a selection of flatbreads.

Recon Brewing at Meeder is the first small business to open its doors at Crossroads at Meeder, and more local businesses are set to open in the coming months.
“Like Recon, Charter started as a small business that has grown over time to deliver quality neighborhoods to Pennsylvania communities where homeowners can walk to it all,” Rob Bowman, President of Charter Homes & Neighborhoods, said in a release. “We are proud to have Recon join the Crossroads at Meeder and are excited to deliver even more quality local small businesses in the future for our neighbors at Meeder and the greater Cranberry community.”
Recon Brewing in Cranberry Township is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
