Get your juice on.
Starting August 1, Root System Juice Company is launching a juice CSA program that will feature weekly pickups of their fresh-squeezed fruit and vegetable juices, at a discounted price.
Each week, participants will get two 32 oz. bottles of juice in two different flavors. Like a traditional farm CSA, you never know what you’re going to get – the menu will change regularly based on what’s available from local farms, and what’s in season.
For instance, right now, they’re rocking seasonal-appropriate combos like:
- Cucumber, kale, apple & lemon
- Cantaloupe, apple, lemon & mint
- Watermelon, lemon & lime
- Pear, kale, celery & lime
- Beet, kale, apple, pear, lemon & tumeric
- Watermelon & fennel
To start, they’ll have pickups at their retail shop in the Pittsburgh Public Market every Thursday, and will add more as time goes on.
Juice CSA shares are available in three-month and six-month versions. The three-month version will cost $420, and the six-month version costs $840 – a savings of $60 and $120 of the cost of purchasing the same amount of juice in-store.
