Independent Brewing Company (1704 Shady Ave.) is celebrating two Pittsburgh-based brands with Hogo & Hops, a rum and beer dinner on Tuesday, April 21.
Maggie’s Farm Rum and Four Seasons Brewing Company will be on hand to provide punch, rum and beer to pair with a four-course dinner, featuring locally-sourced products, including produce from Churchview Farms, local cheeses from Wheel & Wedge, and chocolate from Mon Aimee Chocolate.
On the menu:
First course: Beef carpaccio, fennel Castelvetrano olives, San Guliano olive oil, Kessari cheese
Second course: Birds nest salad with Mizuna, falafel-crusted soft-boiled egg, pickled radish, and tahini vinaigrette
Third course: Wild King salmon with parsnip puree, shaved asparagus and watercress salad, citrus vinaigrette and salmon roe
Fourth course: Local cheese and chocolate board
The first three courses will be paired with a Four Season’s beer, and a tasting of Maggie’s Farm rum, and the final course will be paired with a special Four Seasons Russian Imperial Stout, aged in a former Maggie’s Farm rum barrel.
