Share Your Homemade Treats at Winter Food Swap

Do you enjoy canning, baking, gardening, pickling, and creating your own homemade goodies? Then join Good Food Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Public Market at our winter food swap on January 24.

The food swap is open to everyone (and completely free!). Our last swap was a huge success, with swappers bringing homemade applesauce, pickles, marinara sauce, brownies, baked goods, infused-vodkas, pickled jalapenos, and more.

Here’s how it works: Each participant will bring an assortment of their homemade edible treats to exchange with other Pittsburgh Swappers. There’s no maximum or minimum amount to bring, though we suggest bringing 10 to 15 items per person. Participants can bring several of the same item, or an assortment of items, as long as they’re made by you. Swappers should also bring a sample of your item for tastings!

We will all meet at the Pittsburgh Public Market at 2:00 p.m. After tasting everyone’s food, and meeting the group, the swapping will begin. We’ll be providing swapping cards, where you can request a swap with another participant. No one is under any obligation to swap with you, and you’re under no obligation to swap with them. Each swap is one item to one item, so you should leave with as many items as you came with – they’ll just be an assortment of homemade treats from other Pittsburgh food lovers!

The swap is free, though you must register.

When: Saturday, January 24 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Where: Pittsburgh Public Market, 2401 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh

Register: HERE

We hope to see you at the swap! If you have any questions, please email [email protected]
