Sharpsburg Transforming into Hogsmeade for Harry Potter-Themed Fall Festival

October 12, 2017 by Madeline Quigley 2 Comments

No need to find platform 9 3/4 to make your way to Hogwarts this fall! Hogwarts is coming to Sharpsburg for the neighborhood’s very first “Sharpsmeade Magical Fall Festival.”

Sharpsburg is located just across the Highland Park Bridge, and is only 15 minutes from Downtown Pittsburgh on RT – 28 North.

The event will be held on Saturday, October 21 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Kennedy Park.

Guests will be transported to the wizarding village of Sharpsmeade, where they will discover family-friendly activities, live music and Harry Potter-inspired treats and trinkets from local vendors like Sugar Spell Scoops vegan ice-cream.

There will also be pumpkin decorating, horse-drawn carriage rides, a petting zoo, face painting, arts, crafts, and more.

Guests are encourage to dust off their wizarding robes and wear their favorite (mask-free) costume to the event.

A live music schedule for the event includes:

11 a.m.: Carrie Collins
12 p.m.: John Cihon
1 p.m.: Wild Bill Cox
2 p.m.: Friends in Harmony

The Sharpsburg Neighborhood Organization, which is hosting the event, works to improve the quality of life for residents in Sharpsburg by targeting projects, funding, and partners that prioritize community engagement. This free event is sponsored by The Fugh Foundation.
