The fragrant botanical flavors of gin may currently be in vogue right now, but for years there’s been a spot in Pittsburgh with all the ingredients for a stiff gin cocktail.
Spoon has been a cornerstone in the East Liberty dining scene for nearly a decade, praised for their upscale American cuisine with an international flair.
And, in recent years, they have be harboring one of Pittsburgh’s best-kept secrets: a “Gin Club” with over 60 varieties of gin from every corner of the globe.
While you’re certainly welcome to pair your meal with bottle of wine (they were recognized by Wine Spectator for their wine list), or end your evening with a Manhattan by their roaring fireplace, you’re not going to want to miss their glowing list of gins.
The Gin Club menu includes four types of gin & tonics –Â featuring ingredients like tumeric-ginger syrup, sage, and lemon – and all served with house-made tonic ice-cubes (yes, so your cocktail doesn’t get watered down).
There are also other whimsical takes on classic cocktails, like the “bomb.org,” “Golf Cocktail,” and the “Monkey Gland.”
And, if you just want a classic martini? They’ve definitely got you covered.
The rest you’ll need to see to believe.
