Square Cafe is on the move.
The beloved restaurant and cafe has announced that it will be leaving its Regent Square location, and moving to East Liberty – specifically in the former BRGR/Spoon space at 134 South Highland Avenue.
In a release, owner Sherree Goldstein said that she had planned on expanding the footprint of the cafe for a number of years due to increasing demands. With the challenges of the COVID-19 crisis, especially restrictive outdoor seating ordinances in Edgewood Borough, Goldstein restarted her search in earnest, which led her to take over the BRGR/Spoon space.
Per the release, Goldstein says that the opening of the new location will take place sometime in September. The restaurant will continue to be open for takeout in Regent Square until the move is complete.
“We want people to have the same Square Cafe feeling and experience, and open it up to people who never made it to our Regent Square location,” says Goldstein “We love our Regent Square neighbors and will miss them so much. Hopefully, they will visit us in our new home – they are family to us and will always have a home at Square Cafe.”
Square Cafe’s sister grocery and prepared foods shop, My Goodness, will stay in Regent Square.
