Steel City Salt Co. is headed to Millvale!

The popular seasoning company, which began in Pittsburgh in 2014, has a new headquarters on Grant Avenue in Millvale.

Steel City Salt Company is known for their unique salts from across the globe. When starting the company, founder John Tarallo set out to find the best-of-the-best salts from various regions around the world. In addition to their high-quality salt, the company is known for their funky blends, infusions, and spices. Some popular varieties include their Maple Jalapeño Blend (made with maple syrup from Paul Family Farms), Lemon Lime Sea Salt, and Trinidad Scorpion Salt.

Steel City’s website lists many recipes that can be used with their salt.

The new homebase in Millvale will be a production space for the growing company, as well as a retail shop where customers can peruse their products.

“My dad and I have been renovating this building for what feel likes an eternity, but has probably been a year and a half,” laughs Tarallo. “Slowly but surely, it’s happening.”

The company, which does a lot of online business, is excited to not only have their own space for production, but package and fulfill orders as well. All of Steel City’s blends and orders are all hand-filled in order to maintain freshness, integrity, and quality.

Steel City Salt Co. will celebrate their fourh anniversary in August and plans to have a grand opening celebration around the same time!
