Ever since we tried our first Oakmonter, we’ve been in love with Oakmont Bakery. It’s a neighborhood institution that has legions of fans, and some of the best gourmet cupcakes around – perfectly portioned cakes, stuffed and topped with a variety of different icings, buttercreams, ganaches, and cookie crumbles.
And, since we’ve been spending a big chunk of this summer tinkering with new drink recipes in our home bar, we thought that we’d take two of our favorite summer treats – cocktails and cupcakes – and pair them together.
The expert bakers at Oakmont gave us their picks for perfect pairings, and we’re sharing a few of our cocktail recipes with you. So, while everyone else is lining up for Pumpkin Beer (it’s still August, you know), we’re going to enjoy these last few days of summer with a cool cocktail and a sweet treat.

Strawberries and chocolate are oh, so good together – and that’s why Oakmont paired our Strawberry Basil Crush with their Double Trouble cupcake. It’s a chocolate cake, filled with creamy chocolate, and topped with chocolate icing and chocolate ganache. And it’s amazing.

Oakmont paired our Tennessee Sweet Tea with their Strawberry Lemonade cupcake, a sweet yellow cake, filled with fresh strawberry buttercream, and topped with a honeyed strawberry.
