Well, well, well. The people have spoken… and the people say that the best cheesesteak in Pennsylvania is made right here in Pittsburgh.
USA Today’s 10Best has named The Groove Cheesesteak Company’s classic cheesesteak the best in the state, beating out Philly favorites Pat’s King of Steaks (no. 10), John’s Roast Pork (no. 9) and (our personal Philly pick) Jim’s Steaks South Street (no. 4).
After a panel of experts picked the state’s top 20 nominees, the top 10 winners were determined by a state-wide vote. And nothing – not a push by Philly DJs or a plea from Philadelphia Magazine – could stop the Groove’s race to the top of the polls.
If you want to try the famous, award-winning sandwich for yourself, the South Side shop (formerly Southside Steaks) is open every day for lunch and dinner.
