Friday, August 5

Science of Beer Night at the Carnegie Science Center

Find some adults-only fun at the Carnegie Science Center, with their 21+ night, featuring ‘The Science of Beer,’ a look at the chemistry behind beer. They’ll also have samples from local breweries, and beer-themed science demos. Tickets are $19 and can be found online.

Three Rivers Regatta

The Three Rivers Regatta kicks off tonight and runs through Sunday at Point State Park with family-friendly events, fireworks and live music, plus tons of food trucks parked all day (and all night) long on the Clemente Bridge. For more info, visit online.

Pittsburgh Glass Center Beer Garden

The Pittsburgh Glass Center is hosting a pop-up beer garden tonight with beer from Harris Grill (Full Pint Social Grapefruit IPA, Miller High Life, Founders All Day and Fat Heads Bumbleberry), frozen cocktails, wine, and tasty bites. More info is online.

Saturday, August 6

Onion Maiden Brunch at Black Forge Coffee House

Vegan powerhouse Onion Maiden will be taking over the kitchen at Allentown’s Black Forge Coffee House, serving up brunch starting at 10:00 a.m. No reservations, and everything is first come, first served. Black Forge Coffee House (1206 Arlington Avenue)

FEASTival

We’ve just shared the latest updates on all of the local food trucks that will be at FEASTival, the food, music and art festival taking over McKees Rocks on Saturday,  and suffice it to say that there will be plenty to eat. The event is happening in the McKees Rocks Municipal Lot, on Route 51 and Furnace Street. For more information, visit their event page.

Pizzafest ‘Game of Doughs’

East End Brewing is hosting another Pizzafest, with eight local shops serving pies and slices from noon until 6:00 p.m. They’ll have lots of live music, and 13 East End brews on draft, too. More info is available online.

Saturday Backyard Lunch at Spirit

Slice Island’s Becca Hegarty is taking over Spirit’s backyard Saturday lunch parties for the next month, and she’s bringing with her a full menu of locally-sourced, completely organic dishes. Lunch is served from noon to 4:00 p.m. Read more here.

Sunday, August 7

Wigle Whiskey Sonntag with Spring Hill Brewery

Wigle is continuing their weekly summer Sunday Sonntag at the Barrelhouse with complimentary samples of Spring Hill Brewing beer, plus Wigle cocktails and drams for purchase. The Brownstone Oven will also be around, serving up pizzas. Each Sonntag is kid and dog-friendly. Information is available online.
