The Milk Shake Factory is headed to Cranberry!
Exciting news for anyone with a sweet tooth – this summer, you’ll be able find handspun shakes and homemade chocolate treats at the Cranberry Springs Development, next door to the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex.
The Milk Shake Factory currently in the process of opening a 2,200 square-foot shop (with both indoor and outdoor seating!) in the complex. The store is set to open summer 2019.
The company began in 1914 as a small soda fountain and chocolate shop in Lawrenceville. Today, the brand has five additional shops in South Side, East Liberty, Oakland, PPG Paints Arena, and Downtown. They are known for their handspun shakes, made with local milk from Rivendale Farms, as well as their house-made specialty chocolates.
A few of the popular shakes include: the “Salted Caramel,” a caramel shake with a hint of sea salt, the “S’mores,” a marshmallow shake with hot fudge and graham crackers, and the “Cookie Dough Fudge,” a cookie dough shake with hot fudge.
In addition to the Cranberry location, even more Milk Shake Factory shops are slated to open in 2019. The company has plans to open ten locations throughout the Pittsburgh area by the end of the year.
