The Perfect Whiskey for Everyone on Your Holiday List

Holiday shopping can be stressful, so we’re going to make it easy for you. When it doubt, give the gift that keeps on giving- booze!

Shop local this holiday season and grab friends and family a bottle of Pennsylvania-made whiskey. With plenty of holiday releases on their calendar, Pittsburgh-favorite Wigle Whiskey has a bottle for every person on your list, including craft beer fanatics and Mezcal collectors.

Below we’ve rounded up a few of a favorite seasonal releases. Enjoy!

The Perfect Whiskey for Everyone on Your Holiday List:

For the Scotch Fan: Kilted Rye

Scotch fans will be excited to hear that Wigle has an extra special release this holiday season! Wigle’s aptly-named Kilted Rye is a malted rye whiskey that spent 9 months in iconic Laphroaig Scotch Whisky barrels. After two years in new oak, the rye was transferred to Laphroaig casks in January of 2018. This beverage is an American expression of Scotch, and drinkers will recognize smoky, spicy, and sweet notes. Kilted Rye is a great addition to every Scotch fan’s collection.

For the Holiday Beer Fan: Rudolph Whiskey

Holiday beer fans have another chance to taste Rivertowne Brewing’s popular Rudolph’s Red beer with Wigle’s “Rudolph Whiskey” release. This special holiday whiskey is made from distilled Rudolph’s Red, an American red ale with winter spices. This beer is an old holiday release for Rivertowne, so don’t miss your chance to try it again!

Rudolph Whiskey will be released on December 8th at the Wigle Spectacular Christmas Tree Sale. For the event, guests will enjoy Spiked Hot Chocolates and Hot Toddy drinks while shopping for the perfect Christmas Tree (and Rudolph Whiskey!) Tree Sales benefit Biggies Bullies. For the Mezcal Fan: Oaxaca Rye

Rye Whiskey + Mezcal = a dramatic whiskey release coming to Wigle on December 14th. Oaxaca Rye is a limited-edition whiskey that was aged in new oak for two years, and then spent an additional year in Mezcal Barrels from Oaxaca, Mexico. The barrels are courtesy of Wahaka Mezcal Distillery, a 5th generation Mezcalero in Oaxaca. For the Spiked Cider Fan: Cinnamon Whiskey

Ready to upgrade from Fireball? Enter Wigle Cinnamon Whiskey. This decadent spirit is infused with Ceylon and Cassia cinnamon as well as a bit of sugar. The result is a bold cinnamon whiskey with a hefty kick. A bottle of Cinnamon Whiskey will keep you warm all winter long. Wigle’s Cinnamon Whiskey is delicious on its own, or mixed into tea, cider, and whiskey cocktails.

For the Craft Beer Fan: Hopped Whiskey

Hop fans – this one’s for you! This whiskey celebrates the classic citrus and floral notes of hops. The 2018 Hopped Whiskey is the blend of two wheat whiskies, one made with Cascade hops, and one using Nugget hops. Drinkers will discover a  balanced of hop flavor without being overwhelmingly bitter.

For the Ultimate Pittsburgh Fan: City of Champions Bourbon

Looking for something to sip on during Steelers’ games this season? Grab a bottle of Wigle’s City of Champions Bourbon. This tasty beverage is made with regional organic corn and was aged for 23 months in charred oak barrels.

    Please, You must explore and share about Liberty Pole Spirts, produced by Mingo Creek Craft Distillers in Washington, PA. Their Bourbon Cream is a holiday must.
