Our friends at the Pittsburgh Canning Exchange are hosting a community canning party, and teaching everyone the ins and outs of canning local produce.
On August 15 from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m., they’ll be at Earthen Vessels Outreach (250 South Pacific Avenue), making pickled string beans, better known as dilly beans. These snappy beans have the crunch of crispy pickles, and are the perfect way to preserve garden-fresh beans from your garden.
Tickets are $20 per person, and include the canning class, plus a pint of dilly beans to take home. Produce, supplies, and jars will all be provided.
