Want your chance to shine on the silver screen? Now you’ve got it!
Extras are needed for “You Are My Friend,” an upcoming movie about Fred Rogers that will star Tom Hanks and Matthew Rhys.
On Saturday, August 25 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, an open casting call for extras of all ages and ethnicities will be held for the movie. Casting directors are looking for people who will be able to portray “90’s New York and Pittsburgh pedestrians, ballroom party guests, journalists, business types, wedding guests, bar and restaurant patrons, hospital staff, and audience members.” The extra positions will be paid.
No experience is necessary, and people are encouraged to wear their “best 90’s attire.” And, while the casting call will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., potential extras are encouraged to show up at any point during the day, and are not expected to be there the entire day.

Just wanted to say it would be really cool if i did happen to get to be an extra. Just moved to Pittsburgh from Erie, PA a couple months ago and it would be an awesome experience to do this just moving here so quickly. Even if it is just for an extra!
