A new chain restaurant, which was featured on ABC’s Shark Tank, is coming to Pittsburgh.
Tom & Chee, a fast-casual restaurant known for their cheese melt sandwiches, soups, and grilled-cheese doughnuts will be opening this Fall downtown.
The Cincinnati-based chain appeared on season four of Shark Tank, and earned an investment from Barbara Corcoran.
Tom & Chee serves a cheese-forward menu, with favorites including the Bacon Mac & Chee Melt (a sandwich stuffed with cheddar, mozzarella, Applewood smoked bacon, and Mac & Cheese), the Flying Pig Melt (with smoked Gouda, bacon, turkey, and tarragon mustard), and the Ham & Chee Melt (with Swiss cheese, smoked ham, dill pickles, and Dijon mayo on pumpernickel rye).
Homemade soups include Classic Tomato, Creamy Tomato Basil and Chicken Noodle, and Tom & Chee’s salad selections include a Garden Grilled Cheese salad, with greens, tomatoes, cucumber, carrots, bacon, grilled cheese cubes and croutons.
Rounding out the menu are the concept’s super-popular grilled doughnut dessert items, like their sweet and savory Grilled Cheese Doughnut (with mild cheddar), S’mores Doughnut (with chocolate, graham cracker and marshmallow mascarpone cheese on a grilled doughnut), and the Nutty Monkey, with Nutella and bananas.
Tom & Chee is set to open at 4 PPG Place downtown, right next to the PPG Place ice skating rink. The company has announced that the restaurant will be open in October 2020.
