One of Pittsburgh’s most-loved sandwich shops has made a big move.
After eight years on the South Side, Tootie’s Famous Italian Beef has moved their storefront to Market Square, celebrating with a grand opening earlier this month.
The restaurant, known for their Italian Beef Sandwiches, is now open on Fifth Avenue for takeout, and delivery within the Downtown area.
While the roast beef sandwich (made with chopped, marinated beef, and topped with giardiniera and provolone) is the star of the show, the restaurant also features a full menu of options, including a Chicken Sandwich (with marinated, slow-roasted chicken, marinara and onions and peppers), Corned Beef (with Swiss cheese and sauerkraut), Pulled Turkey (with Swiss and buttered spinach) and Sausage sandwiches. They also feature sandwiches made with a combination of meats, and a number of sandwiches topped with their famous homemade Mac & Cheese.

Other options include green salads, pasta salad, turkey chili and sides of Bacon Mac & Cheese.
Breakfast is available from 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., and includes breakfast sandwiches, and grab-and-go options like yogurt parfait cups.
Owner Karl Horn spoke with the Downtown CDC, and said that the shop plans to eventually expand delivery service into Lawrenceville, the South Side and the Strip District soon.
Order online, or call 412-315-7948. The restaurant is open daily until 6:00 p.m.
