Wigle Whiskey is almost ready to release their 2014-harvested hopped whiskey, Whim #8, and they’re doing it with a big bash.
On Saturday, October 3, join Wigle Whiskey, GTECH, and East End Brewery at the Wigle Barrelhouse for Wethoptober, celebrating their collaborative efforts to grow hops at Garfield Community Farm, and turn those hops into East End brews, and to use local hops for an annual Wigle release.
This year’s batch of hopped whiskey is triple-distilled from Wigle’s Organic Wheat Mash, and vapor-infused with fresh, whole cone Chinook and Cascade hops that were harvested with Soergel’s Orchards. It’s been aged in once-used barrels for over a year, and is 92 Proof.
Tickets for the event are $30 each, and include a 12-oz. souvenir beer glass, one hopped whiskey cocktail, three 6-oz. pours from three unique hopped beers from East End Brewery, and tasting samples of hopped whiskey.
The party will also feature all-night live music, and food truck offerings from Berlin Street Foods and Brownstown Wood Fired Brick Oven.
